Businesses interested in participating in the Trades & Hiring Fair can sign up here. In partnership with TPS and Korsmo Construction, the Trades & Hiring Fair will take place in the Tacoma Dome Exhibition Hall. TPS will bus in high school students to explore career pathways in industries like maritime, transportation, logistics, and construction. There will be around 100 booths from local trades-related companies, educational institutions, and apprenticeship programs, offering job opportunities for youth and adults alike.

On Friday, October 30, from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM, T-Town will offer a Sensory Hour for guests who prefer a quieter, more relaxed environment to explore and enjoy the event at their own pace.

T-Town Sensory Social Story

The Tacoma Dome is a KultureCity Certified Sensory Inclusive Venue. That means that our staff has taken KultureCity Sensory Inclusion 101 so our venue can be more welcoming and accommodating to guests with sensory needs, not just during Sensory Hour times, but during all events.

What is Sensory Hour?

This time lets guests experience T-Town with lower sensory input to create a less overwhelming environment.

Who is sensory hour for?

Anyone with sensory sensitivities who would prefer a quieter, low-key exploration of T-Town. This includes individuals with autism, military vets with PTSD, adults with dementia, Parkinson's disease, stroke patients just to name a few.

How does sensory hour work?

During this time, we will:

• Dim overhead lighting
• Speak in quieter voices
• Turn off flashing lights on trucks
• Keep sirens and horns silent
• Play calm music quietly

What if a guest has sensory needs and comes outside of the sensory hour time?

KultureCity sensory bags and weighted lap pads are available for guests to borrow at the Guest Services Desk in the arena. Each sensory bag includes a KultureCity VIP lanyard, noise-reducing headphones, fidget tools, and a communication card.

Guests who need a break from the event environment are also welcome to use the designated sensory-friendly nook at the Tacoma Venues & Events (TVE) booth.
