Hams for the Holidays – Ham Giveaway for Those in Need

Commencement Bank in partnership with Tacoma Venues & Events and Nourish Pierce County present Hams for the Holidays

Commencement Bank, Tacoma Venues & Events, and Nourish Pierce County, along with generous local sponsors and volunteers, are putting on the second annual Hams for the Holidays at the Tacoma Dome. This event will provide ham (and limited ham alternatives) to families experiencing food insecurities this holiday season. The event was inspired by the increased need for food assistance across Pierce County and will replicate the drive-thru turkey distribution event before Thanksgiving, which was spearheaded by the Tacoma Police Department.

“As we enter our second year of ‘Hams for the Holidays,’ we are so grateful to work with our amazing clients and local businesses to support our community – especially during a time when the cost of food is rising and the need for assistance is greater than ever. It is a privilege and an honor to be able to provide local families with a holiday meal and to celebrate the true meaning of the season; giving back,” said John E. Manolides, Chief Executive Officer of Commencement Bank.

Participants in need of a ham this holiday season are encouraged to show up at the beginning of the event to ensure adequate supplies, and to be prepared to wait in line. The event will take place on Friday, December 19th in the Tacoma Dome’s Parking Lot G from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm (or while supplies last).
